Milton Bentley

 

     Milton E. Bentley, 75, of Waco, passed away Dec. 30, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmie Spann officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave.

 

     Mr. Bentley was a Christian and a long-time member of the Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Bentley was born in Cego, Texas, on Nov. 18, 1927 to Sallie and Oras Bentley. After graduating from Bruceville-Eddy High School, Mr. Bentley served in the Merchant Marines and the U. S. Navy.

 

     Mr. Bentley was a letter carrier in the Waco area for 35 years and was active in N.A.L. C. Branch 404. He retired in 1986 and worked for Baylor University Mail Center until 1996. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary; and brother Ruben.

 

     He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Bobbie; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Rodney Moon of Desoto; granddaughter, Laura Moon of Desoto; and grandson, Michael Moon of Laramie, Wyoming. Other survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Leslie and Ruby Bentley of Louisiana, Clarence and Mary Jo Bentley of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law Ella Merle and I. D. Jones of  Dallas; and sister-in-law, Gloria Bentley of San Antonio; Howard and Linda Geurin of Waco, Linda and David Bracken of Fort Worth, Jeanette and Bob Spencer of Temple and Katherine Ross of Danville, Ill.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
